Fine Art Printmaking
Since the late 1980s and the years following Pijoan’s return from studying in Tuscany, he has been building a sizable body of collectable, hand-pulled intaglio works on paper. Most notably are the zinc plate Aquatint etchings, which require great skill in creating various tonal layers on the plate through multiple acid-bath etches. To learn more about the aquatint process, click here. Randy also creates reduction block prints, which are multiple color, limited edition relief prints on paper. These are very rare as the plate is destroyed in the process of creating the edition. To learn more about the reduction block process, click here. Randy’s nightscape series includes several Lithographs that were printed at his non-profit, Ventero Open Press, with the skill of master printmaker Matt Cappelle. To learn more about the lithograph process, click here. Pijoan’s fine art prints are limited edition, original pieces of art. Each fine art print is hand inked by the artist and printed on the finest archival BFK Reeves (100% cotton fiber) paper, using a Conrad etching press. Each print is signed by the artist with the edition number and title of work and comes with a certificate of authenticity. When ordering a hand-colored etching, painted with transparent inks by the artist, additional delivery time is required.
